Eiffel Tower (1974)
This pen and ink drawing was done in the summer of 1974, when my folks visited Paris. They did a lot of travel domestically, but only got to Europe a couple of times. I feel that Dad’s drawings of buildings and a structure like this show something of his training as a mechanical engineer who entertained the idea of becoming an architect.
Below this image, I’ve posted a few scattered pages from the sketchbook Dad carried around during this visit to Paris. When most folks would be snapping photos, he’d be sketching.
